Tone List presents Marcus Whale (Warrang), with Melānija & Pure Rave

3:00pm, November 14, 2026

$30/$20/flexible
The Bird, 181 William St, Northbridge WA 6000

Marcus Whale presents the Boorloo launch of his album ‘Nether’, a suite of experimental songs doused in dark, polyrhythmic electronics.
Join us for an afternoon show of heady, hypnotic and atmospheric electronic music, headed up by Marcus Whale launching Nether.

“Nether freely blends elements of IDM, bass music, and trance, though recognisable traces of varied artists appear too, ranging from Tool to HTRK, and even Whale’s first project making ambient music at age 16. Identifying the unifying hypnotic qualities across his influences, many of these songs consist of repeated loops with wide, sweeping filters, creating a circularity further emphasised by the use of live percussion.”

Also performing are the veiled electronic songwriting of Melānija (guitar, vocals & drum machine), and the conceptually-driven vinyl-skip ‘chance dance’ of Pure Rave (prepared turntables).
